Our Facilities

Westlake Volunteer Fire Department has a long-standing commitment and history of providing a rapid response time throughout the entire service area. Because fire can grow exponentially in a matter of minutes, Westlake Volunteer Fire Department operates a centralized station that was completed in 2014, servicing the Houston suburb of Katy, TX.

The Department facilities provide a location where the volunteers and firemen and their families are welcome, as they’re devoting precious free time to serve the community. The Fire Station, Training Facility and Storage Facility encourage firemen and volunteers to participate in the day-to-day activities of the department, creating a family atmosphere when they can’t be with their families.

Fire Station

The Westlake Volunteer Fire Department is 23,320 square foot and located at 19636 Saums Rd. The upstairs is designated for the membership’s living quarters when they are on duty. It includes a large kitchen area, male and female dormitories, men’s and women’s bathrooms which are also equipped with showers, a theater room, watch office, and game room. The downstairs host’s offices for administrative personnel, a kitchenette, men’s and women’s bathrooms, the apparatus bay, locker room, and a weight room designated for the membership. A dry retention pond adjacent to the parking-lot is used for volley ball and open to the public. The apparatus bay holds three ambulances, a medic vehicle, a booster truck, an aerial ladder truck, and two squads. During the day the bay doors are regularly left open to encourage the community to tour the station. Inside the main entrance to the fire station is a waiting area which includes a memorial to those lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The station was completed on May 9, 2014. The membership moved into the station in June of 2014.
