The Westlake Junior Fire Academy is a 5-day camp taught by the Westlake Fire Department and various Community Agencies to educate participants about the exciting career in Fire and EMS. Students learn about teamwork, responsibility and leadership while participating in exciting hands-on activities in a fun atmosphere. Activities include tours of the fire station and apparatus, fire extinguisher training, first aid and CPR training, mock search and rescue drills, hose operations, and much more.

Classes will take place from 8 AM to 3 PM from July 18- July 22, 2022 at the Westlake Fire Department at 19636 Saums Rd Houston, TX 77084. Children can be dropped off any time after 7:30 AM and must be picked up promptly at 3:00 PM

The cost of the 2022 Junior Fire Academy is $75 and includes lunch, snacks and two academy t-shirts, a pair of academy shorts as well as take home items from each day. Please make checks payable to the “Westlake Fire Department” and write “Junior Fire Academy” on the memo line. To pay by Credit Card, please come by the station Monday-Friday 9am-3pm and ask to speak with Ginny Valls.

Any child between the ages of 12 to 15 can apply for the Junior Fire Academy; however, children who live within our Westlake service district will be given priority access to the camp.
